1 Cup persimmon pulp
1 tsp. baking soda
1 Cup sugar
1/2 Cup shortning
1 egg (well beaten)
2 Cups flour
1 Cup walnuts chopped
1 Cup raisins
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves (powdered)
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
Beat together persimmon pulp, baking soda, sugar & shortning until creamy.
Add egg, beat well.
Sift flour & spices.
Add dry ingredients with nuts and raisins.
Drop by spoonful onto greased (or Teflon) baking sheet.
Bake 375 for 10-12 minutes (until light brown).
Makes about 3 dozen
