  1. I am shortly to visit this area of Wales. I would be
    interested to know of any "off road" cycle tracks, if
    anybody could help I would be grateful. I paticularly enjoy
    riding on tracks built on old railways. JSGJ

    As far as the Preseli end of Pembrokeshire goes not much in
    the way of rail trails at the moment, but some great off-
    road riding to be had. Head for the area around Newport, for
    example, go up to Carningli mountain and along the ridge.
    The area around Rosebush has some good off-roading, as does
    the Gwaun valley. The National Cycle Network route 4 starts
    at Fishguard and takes you into some some stunning
    countryside with plenty of off-road options. Canaston Woods
    near Oakwood country park has some great trails as well.

    Watch out for dogs leaping out of farm gates. Worth
    buying the local


    sustrans map for quiet roads (apart from dogs) Good riding
    in the Presli hills (sheep country so dogs under control)
