  1. HI, I have been using a number of pedometers with each one
having a different of the number of steps I have taken.

Where should they be placed? I have tried on my hip or
over my belly. I have placed two right next to each other
and after walking only 1000 steps on one the other may
    600 or 1250.

I used a handheld GPS receiver to find that 24 of my steps =
    0.01 mile, therefore 2400 steps = 1 mile.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Warm Regards, Lou

  2. First, I, nor my wife, represent any company in this post.

Second, my wife has had her pedometer for about 3 years
(actually her second one) and I have had mine for about 4
months. Both are New Lifestyles Digi-Walker SW-401 models.
We have both had really good results with them. We have
walked several times a known distance and have been within
.01 miles each time. The main problem with these are the
clips. They are plastic and do stretch out. That's why she
is on her second one, before we realized they could be
repaired. The clip would be better if it was a spring clip
instead, but then the spring could break. As for accuracy,
we haven't been disappointed. The other bad thing with
accuracy is the stride length can only be adjusted in .25 of
a foot or 3 inches. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but could
really add up over time. Still, I would not buy another
    brand or model.

  3. I am very disappointed with the Pedometers I have tried so
far and I've probably tried four or five over the last year.
I've had three problems with them. The biggest is accuracy.
    I'm doing a 10,000 step a day program, so I don't care about
distance. But most don't even count steps correctly. I'll
pace off 100 steps and find that they read anywhere from 56
to 95. I've tried various locations on my belt. It even
seems to depend on what belt I'm wearing! Second are the
clips. The ones that are just bent plastic do not last very
long. It has to be a spring clip. Third, for the type that
you have to open to see the display (as opposed to the
display on the top), my best one so far had the little
plastic clip that holds it closed break, so it is presently
held together with a rubber band.

I would be happy to spend more money on a high quality one,
but more money just gets you a bunch of electronic features
    that I don't need.
