I have road bike and do only recreational riding. I would like a pair of biking shoes and pedals but dont know what is good. Can you point me in the right direction. Thanks

ThanksAs a strictly recreational rider myself, I enjoy the convenience of mountain-type clipless pedals with an integrated platform cage, such as the Shimano 324/424/545/647. Not wanting to spend much money, at this point, I'm using 424s. Crank Brothers Candy and Mallet pedals also look good, but they're a bit more pricey.
Having a platform is nice for when you just want to hop on with street shoes. SPD-compatible shoes are also more 'walkable'. For the summer, I'm wearing (and enjoying) a pair of Lake sandals.
