I finally have to admit I'm just clumsy. I use Look Keo pedals but I've had it with my clumsiness / stupidity in not getting a foot unclipped in time
Can someone tell me what the lightest readily available platform / flat road pedal is, please?

Wellgo makes inexpensive platform pedals, just be careful you don't go to cheap or you'll have problems. There is a sale going on here for Wellgo: Wellgo Pedals at Price Point
Wellgo makes good pedals. You might also want to check out the platform and quill pedals made by MKS.
