The last time I rode my LWB bent, my right knee started to hurt after about 40 miles. I have been seeing ads for a "pedal extender" and am wondering if this would be a magic cure all for the knee pain. The strange thing is, I have a Cho-Pat strap and I stopped during the ride and put it around my right knee. You guess it: the pain went away. So, now I don't know if this pain was a knee cap issue or something that would be helped by adding the pedal extender. The left knee was fine. I wasn't using cleats or toe clips, so float shouldn't have been a problem. Any ideas? Has anyone else used the pedal extender?
I tried pedal extenders, but found the extension to be too extreme. As it turns out I am not perfectly symmetric, right and left, so the best solution was to extend the right side only. I did this by ordering a slightly longer shaft for my speedplay frogs (right side only). If you do try frogs, you can order the pedal shafts in custom lengths.
