Hey guys, as "beach season" closes in I'm starting to lean down a little bit by going on a bit of a diet by lowering carbs and running away from candy.
My biggest problem was keeping away from sweets but I'm doing okay but I reward myself with a nice bag of peanuts once a week as compensation, hell, it can't be as bad as a Mars bar.
I'm curious, what are peanuts, it is protein? Is it bad diet wise? Does it harm the liver or any such stuff I shoukld know or is it just and old wifes tale?
I'm also getting a craving for grapes, as far as fruit goes is it good for me? I assume it has a lot less calories than less "watery" fruit like say bananas for instances.

huh!?!? someone once told you that eating peanuts was bad for your liver? Here is a link to the basic nutrition of peanuts. http://www.peanut-institute.org/NutritionBasics.html Generally pretty healthy. Totally fine to eat in moderation and avoid overly prepared styles that are soaked in oils and sweeteners and stuff.

So yeah, 1 cup of grapes has about 70% fewer calories than a cup of banana. That said, I think your reasoning is a little suspect. Rather than try to reason these things out you'd be better off just looking up teh nutrition facts online.

Peanuts are mostly fat. 70% fat, 12% carbs and 18% protein. 100 peanuts have about 500 calories so don't eat too many, but you can have nuts every day not just once a week. Nuts are good fat not bad saturated fat.
Walnuts, cashews and almonds are also good sources of fat just don't let your daily fat intake exceed 35% of your calories. Walnuts are 83% fat, 8% carbs and 9% protein; others are about the same as peanuts. Nuts increase testosterone also. Eat them late if you want a snack because they won't raise your blood sugar. Buy unsalted nuts in the bulk section of your grocery store.

It's easy to eat too many. A cup of green grapes has 115 calories. Eat them during the day when you're active and just don't pig out. They are 90% carb.
