I know there is limited lay-by parking along the A66 but how
big is the public car park in Threlkeld village as on O.S
explorer map for the N.E Lakes & can I walk to mousthwaite
comb area to ascend via sharp edge without having to walk
back along the A66? thanks.

The Village Hall Park - signposted to the "WCs" would hold
about 10 cars. I used it Saturday pm - no one else there. However the track ( non right of way) above Doddick Farm
fromDoddick Gill eastward 331 265 to 335 267 has had the gates
barbed wired shut ( even tho' they have "please close the
gate" signs on them .So I suppose the way round is up the fell around the highest
wall, or along the old A66 neither of which I have done.Have a good time - I really enjoyed my first scramble up
Halls Fell Ridge !Robert royall at which net

Last time I went ( Jan) it would hold around 12-15 if parked
correctly. I went about 9 am and it was empty. Even when I
came back arount 2pm :-) Mike.
