For a few days, I have been losing plenty of time playing with the Wikipedia (shhh, don't tell that to anybody, but it can be still more addictive than Usenet).
beginning with "Pappoos 1 is a walking trail that links North East London to Cambridge and The Wash" then describing the course of this "Pappoos 1" (a detailed description from London to Cambridge, then the Fen Rivers Way).
I strongly suspect this page to be a hoax or at best a mistake ; it could be only a misspelling of the name of the path (no such Pappoos as a path on Google), but what would be the correct spelling ?

The page may be either BUT the Way exists. I live not to many miles distant from part. I links to other ways including the Nene Way. Excellent walking in that area.
I don't know about the orgnisation whick claims to have produced a guide but will try to find more....
For certain 'yellowbellies' I do live in fenlands and AM therefore a flatlander!. And proud of it. (since 1066 and all that)

Thanks but do you mean the "Fen Rivers Way" or "Pappoos 1"? For the Fen Way, that makes no doubt of course, there are many manifestations of this name on the internet. I was specifically writing about the name "Pappoos 1" and about the section I of this path as described on the wikipedia page (I requote the URL for easy access : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pappoos_1 ), that is a trail between London and Cambridge.

Doesn't sound very English, does it. Hmmm. -- I try to be a good example to my children, but they just see me as a dire warning.
