Actually the local mom n pop bakery in my town makes *SUPERIOR* bread.

Panera is a restaurant specializing in soups, sandwiches, salads, bagels
and fancy coffees. They also have breads and pastries for sale. They
are very busy around here and there's always a waiting line, but it
moves fast.

Their broccoli cheese soup is great and I love their tomato/basil bread.
They have very nice Asiago cheese bread too.

It's very casual and usually has a fireplace and WI/FI area for the
computer people.

Prices are reasonable. Give it a try.

Nothing personal Kimberly, but he's entitled to his opinion, just as
you are yours. A couple of people here have praised the cobblestones
to the rooftrees, but I found them dry and very unappetizing. OTOH, I
love the soups and salads, and appreciate getting a reasonable size of
both as a combo. Some of their stuff is too salty for me, but the new
crispinis have potential.

foo-foo: chopped basil is just an herb; rosemary onoin foccacia is just
a good fairly basic bread. ; spinach artichoke spread i've seen even in
my local grocery; carmelizedonions? foo foo?; field greens? just a
fancy name for lettuce; fuji apple chicken salad my mom was making
chicken salad with apples back in the 70s, too old to be foo-foo;
walnuts ; gorgonzola cheese - how do you consider these ingredients to
be foo-foo?

nowadays every restaurant gives the detailed, adjective filled
descriptions of food. (fragrant, delicate, zesty, etc.)

Now I'll give ya foo-foo for the sun-dried tomato ale mustard, Tender,
slow-roasted steak

$6 for a bowl (not a cup) of good soup, a baguette, a salad (a *real* salad, not your
average iceberg and underripe tomato) is NOT expensive to me. The ingredients are all
fresh and flavorful, nothing is coated in grease, and everything tastes good.
My thinking that is a bargain doesn't make me a [censored], it makes me someone who has a
different opinion than someone else on what is expensive.

I never said he couldn't have an opinion, I simply differed in mine. He then had a
tantrum like a 2 yr old, with the name calling and all, but hey...it's easy to
misinterpret ng's and e-mail, so who cares.

The Crispanis are pretty good, but then, I prefer thin crust pizzas anyway. The
chicken apple sausage was a hit with my husband and son, but I like the one with just
tomato and basil.

um, those may be fresh ingredients, but they *are* foo-foo. I work in a
store that sells sub sandwiches. two different fresh baked breads, plain
veggies, mayo, vinaigrette and cold cuts. That's non foo-foo fresh.
The food at Panera bread is pretty good, but not what I'd expect for how
they pimp it. And *way* more expensive than necessary.

Foo-foo is not just in the ingredients, it's in the way they're
described, marketed and for what price. Flavored mayonnaise and
mixed lettuces are not necessarily foo-foo in themselves, but
"fragrant pesto aoili" and "tender field greens" when mixed with
everything else about the restaurant (shop, whatever), are
definitely foo-foo.

Can you read what I typed? It was $6 for a sandwich (with a small
amount of filling) and a bag of chips...those in the paper bag (that
makes them better for you than the plastic bag) (priced regularly @
about $2.50) and a slice of dill pickle. The drink was extra.

What Steve was calling you a [censored] for was saying that he had never
been there. Read up above. You actually typed it. That's why *I*
typed "but I've probably never been there either...".

I'm glad that *YOU* liked it. Does that make others liars for not
