Painting bicycle question .. .. .. . . . . .

Strip it all down (the components that is, and send it to a powder coating
shop. try and get the proper polyester fusion bonded stuff. short of that,
chemically strip the existing finish, clean it up real good with alcohol and
such, and use your favourite enamel spray cans. the paint will be softer
than powder coating though, and chalk in the sunlight. Or, strip it and take
it to an automotive shop or motorcycle paint shop. My money is on the pwder
coating though, especially if the frame is aluminum.

That is a great idea on the motorcycle shop .. ?? Why didn't I think of
that?

I have done both, and there is no comparison. Get the powder coating.
The bike I had powder coated is still pristine 6-7 years later, the bike
I sprayed with enamel looks like [censored].

The powder-coated one gets 5x the miles, too, and the sprayed one would
not get ridden at all except that it is my commuter.
