Hello, I need some advice. Mom (57) is not a runner, but she is on her foot a lot and recently developed a problem in her left knee. Knee is swollen above cap and in the side (anterior). She feels pain, stiffness and some tightness when bending her knee. She is able to walk but feels pain when bending and stretching.
The back of her knee does not hurt, but the front of the knee hurts and so does the anterior side (side facing the other leg).
I posted here since I saw other posters with knee issues.
Please advice if you have experience w/ these symptoms and can offer any advice on treatments. She is currently taking arnica montana (has no insurance), but w/ no improvement seen.

Most of the knee problems we attempt to play doctor with are usually running related or running aggravated. I understand she has no insurance but any auggestions would be a wild ass guess and possibly do more harm than good. Get her to a doctor for a real diagnosis.
