You should have email; however I've had some dropped SMTP packets lately so I can't be sure anything's getting through. The answer to your question is that AFAIK he's fine, and it's perfectly OK to email him. It's only Usenet he's eschewing, not people per se.

Not fully recovered but, getting there. Walking about 3km per day right now and hopefully in good shape by the time the snow all melts and we get summer here in the great white north.
