This letter in the Reading Evening Pest must've been written by someone
who'd honed their style on Usenet:
"Another interesting (yawn)
letter from AE Lott - headlined
'Rogue cyclists a menace to
everyone' (Evening Post, August 22nd)
I wonder if he can explain how
cyclists manage to cycle through red
lights when they are busy cycling
on footpaths.
Clever folk.
Personally I prefer to cycle in the
road rather than taking a cycle
route that doesn't go my way and is
full of untrained pedestrians,
parked cars and dog mess
Mind you, I might make an
exception if I go to Richmond Road
- just for fun.

Richmond Road is wide, straight and leafy. The original complaint was
probably from someone who thought the presence of bicycles would lower
the price of his house!
