What is the best way to use power to overload workouts? For example, for each meso cycle, I would like to overload by 10% from week to week (except, of course, for week 4 of the mesocycle where I will drop to load employed during week 2).
So, a Computrainer will help me do this by regulating power output for intervals, so I might overload the following workout:
4 sets * 300W * 5min w/ 5 min rest between each
by increasing total interval time by 10% and, over time as I re-test LT, I might increase wattage.
But does anyone use total work (KJ, calories, etc) performed during a workout to measure load and how and how do you calculate KJ, etc.)?
Wouldn't this help normalize loads across different CT courses ridden, etc.?
Many thanks in advance.
