I commute 7 miles to work. Near the end of the ride I develop pain along the outside edge of both feet. I am using Sidi dominators and SPD's adjusted so that my feet are as near to the crankarms as possible. The pain also occurred with my previos shoes (Specialised Comp). Has anybody had similar problems? Will a switch to (wider) road pedals help?

Cheers.
I live in the dark ages of clips and straps and so this advice may not be appropriate.
I once had a similar problem although it took about 20 miles of riding to rear its head. I blamed it on the pedals, the quills, the straps, crank "Q factor", but switching everything had little or no effect.

Try moving the cleats to the inside (as far away from the crank as possible).
Try putting washers under one cleat bolt to tilt the cleat (you may need longer bolts).
The Sidi soles are very stiff, so I doubt wider pedals/cleats will help. My guess is that your feet are pronating (rolling), either because the cleat isn't centered or they naturally pronate. Feet shouldn't hurt in only 7 miles, something must be pretty seriously wrong. Do you have very wide feet? Do you wear out shoe soles on one edge or the other?
