  1. Hi,

excuse me for my bad english, I'm from Croatia.I'm almost a total beginner in triathlon, I've been
on two sprint triathlons this summer(750m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run). I would like to ask you if
you know some web adresses where I can find a program for a triathlon training? I don't know how
much to ride a bike, run, swim. How do i mix these three so that i get the best results? Are you
training triathlon, if you are willing to share some expirience and triathlon training tehniques
with me I would be most greatfull! :-)

    Bye,

    marko

It's a good start...there are a few of us in this NG that do a tri now and then, so feel free to ask
    for advice.

    Good luck!

    Hi Marko,

i'm jumping in here without having read previous posts, so you may have already heard this
    stuff but....

if you have already done two triathlons of fair length, then you must have SOME ability in swimming,
biking and running. you are just looking for a structured training program to follow, right?

i read several books and looked at many magazines and websites, and then created my own customized
program. i really needed something that allowed me to fit in "the rest of my life", so i had to
block out my time each day of the week, including rest days.

being a runner first, i run three times a week, doing fartlek and tempo runs, and occasionally some
hills or a little more distance. for race training, i swim at least twice per week (currently once
per week, now that race season is over here). i do that for about an hour, first warming up, then
stroke count drills, then adding speed, then a continuous long swim, then some easy laps to cool
down. when it was race season, i cycled at least twice (sometimes three times) per week, for 40-60
min. so i could manage sprint distance races. i didn't go much beyond that in training.
