Take another look. There is an X-18 class flare inbound directly towards us - I've just lost a satellite feed and the ACE monitoring satellite looks like that's been screwed judging by the odd numbers it's feeding me.

That's what interested me. However Wales has now decided it needs rain for the next few days. Normally I wouldn't mind, but the timing sucks. No surprise there then, we've had a lot of bad luck with astronomical phenomena this year. Remember the Worms Head Sunrise Eclipse that never was?
