  1. Hi everyone -
I've been lcing since late April (23rd-ish). Lately, I've begun feeling the
slightest pangs, which come from my upper left-hand portion of my chest, near
my breast. It feels like a pinprick, in the sense it only lasts for a
millisecond, and is shallow in intensity.

    I'm 3 months shy of turning 20, 5'6" (six-and-three-fourths, actually, close to
5'7"😉 and I weigh 185 lbs. I've been eating 2 eggs and 2 slices of bacon every
single day this whole summer, my lunch usually includes a chicken salad or
salami rolled in Munster cheese & mustard, and dinner is commonly a salad, or
with a burger without the bun, or a steak, some veggies... it varies, but is
basically Induction, although I do have some low-carb ice cream, also.

I haven't been exercising, as I don't have a free gym here, and was waiting to
go back to school - so I guess I should mention that. I was used to working
out 5 or 6 times a week, 1 hour at a time, doing the Elliptical, Treadmill,
Rowing Machine, the Abs Twister, Hip Adduction, and random leg strenghtening
    machines.

I'm just worried my cholesterol skyrocketed from the eggs, or my heart is weak,
or something. I really don't want to bring this up to my parents right now, as
they're both under tremendous stress (from work struggles, my grandma being
ill), and I go back to school next week, so I can always get checked out there
by a doctor... BUT I wouldn't want him sending me to the local hospital for EKG
tests, etc. Can I just ask for anonymous lipid, cholesterol tests - to say
"out of curiosity" - and see if those measurements red flag anything?

Also, as soon as I go back to school, I'd like to begin working out again.
What do you suggest, not doing it until I get my tests back, taking it lightly
and stopping if I get concerned, or just working out regularly because it may
    strengthen my heart?

Perhaps this is just a fluke and will disappear soon, but I don't find it
hurtful to ask. TY for reading.

I'm pretty sure heart or artery disease couldn't develop in so short a
time. The location you point to is not where you would feel such pain
were it caused by heart or artery blockage. Your heart is more in the
    middle, higher than your breast.

When does this pain occur? How often?

You might be low on some nutrients needed in your connective tissues.
Are you taking a vitamin/mineral supplement? Without such nutrients,
and especially after a long sedentary period, any sudden movent could
strain a tendon or cartilage in your chest. If this pain occurs when
you breath in, you have almost certainly bruised or inflamed some
    connective tissue.

Pain isn't a fluke, but it isn't likely this one is caused by your
    heart.

  3. a visit to you doctor with these questions is in order.

High cholesterol takes a long time, years or decades to have any
effect, so even if your cholesterol did go higher on LC, it's not the
cause of any chest pangs you are having. And studies have shown that
typically blood lipids either improve or stay about the same on LC.
The symptoms you are having could be from lots of things. Have you
    been taking a daily multi-vitamin?

I would definitely see a doctor, who will likely recommend at least an
EKG and more likely a stress test. Both are simple, not very
expensive and well worth it to help put your mind at ease and reduce
the small chance that it is something more serious. I would
definitely have them done before resuming strenuous exercise. And
you should have routine blood tests done, which includes getting your
complete lipid profile, then you'll know your HDL, LDL, Trig, etc.
