New Relief Program Moves Mountains, One Miracle At A Time
Moneta, VA - November 3, 2005 - What classifies Safe Haven Helping
Hands Network as a first rate charity is written in its mission:
The corporation is organized for promotion of social welfare and to
provide direct aid relief, medical care, supplies and services to
victims of disasters within the United States of America on an
unrestricted basis and to provide the free access of miracles to happen
every day.
Immediately after our recent tragedy with Hurricane Katrina, volunteers
from the network traveled to Bayou La Batre, AL to help with a
forgotten Laotian community in need of medical treatment and everyday
supplies. For over two weeks, the team took charge and obtained food,
treated medical conditions and assisted in any way they knew how.
"A clinic was set up in the community and each person that needed care
was seen. Our team didn't leave until the last person's needs were
addressed," says Debbie Hagan of Owensboro, KY.
"Safe Haven Helping Hands was the only organization to give me
something concrete" wrote Dwain Pellebon, Ph.D., of the University of
Oklahoma. The network located donors to provide funds for transporting
his elderly father from a Louisiana nursing home to his home in
Oklahoma City after the Katrina devastation.
