Microwave ovens have come down in price so much for the
smaller models that they are essentially a commodity
item. All the major brands should be okay, such as
Panasonic, Sharp, and so on. Just go to your favorite
home appliance store and pick whichever model has the
    freatures and price you want.

My husband and I received a Panasonic microwave as an
engagement gift 17 years ago and it's still going strong - I
won't say that too loud, though, in order not to jinx it!

The best microwave I've ever had was a Sharp that I bought
from Costco. I just picked the one with the most wattage
(1000+). The thing was absolutely thermonuclear...it would
pop a bag of popcorn in something like 65 seconds.

Unfortunately, my friend killed it when he put a bag of
popcorn in it for FOUR MINUTES! It caught fire and it took
forever to get the smoke smell out of my house, and I never
could get it out of the microwave. Every time I'd use it,
my kitchen would smell like charred popcorn, so it finally
    had to go.

I ended up buying a Panasonic of the same wattage and it's
not nearly as good. For whatever reason, I've always found
Sharp microwaves to be the best. (I've owned three.)

    Hasta, Curt Nelson
