Ok, so the Boy Scouts need to have adults 45 years old and up get a recent medical check-up before you can do a summer camp. I'm going with my son (he's 10 and a Cub Scout so adults have to go if the boy wants to go to the camp). Anyway, I'm sitting there and the doc has a stethoscope on my wrist while he is doing my blood pressure and he looks at me kind of funny. One of those "sideways glances". He then takes the cuff off and puts the stethoscope on my chest and looks at the clock.
Then he asks me what I do to keep in shape. I ride a mountain bike. He says... yup that'll do it. My resting hr was in the low 60's. I guess it kind of freaked him out a bit. It's always been like that though. Not as low as some I know but pretty low for a 45 year old 220lb guy.

Marty "not dead yet"
Nice 🙂
A few (OK, more than a few) years ago I had to undergo lithotrypsy for kidney stones, and they actually had to medicate me to INCREASE my resting heartrate (it was, like, 47 or something). Not sure if I was mtb-ing yet, but had been running for a few years (since stopped).
Bill "still ride but bet it ain't THAT low no mo" S.

My resting HR isn't that low, but it too was enough to raise the eyebrows of the Doctor when I had my appendix out last year. I'm about 200#. I guess that they just don't expect low heart rates on 'bigger' guys.
