US mobiles work on a different frequency (1900Mhz as

I guess I got lucky when I bought a phone while visiting
Ireland two years ago. It worked as soon as I stuck my T-
Mobile card in it (abroad and home). I just figured GSM was
GSM. You got way cooler phones over there. They wait a year
before introducing them here.

I travel back and forth from Germany to the U.S. GSM phones
work with th T-Mobile network and you can buy a prepaid SIM
for about 53 dollars (about 30 Quid) so you can just buy the
minutes you want. I think it costs 99 cents a minute to call
the UK from here though. You will need a tri-band phone too.
