I suspect this is a reversal of cause and effect. People in superior health are more likely to do the exercise. It is not logical to conclude that exercise is the cause. I see exercise as the effect.

I'm not sure I agree with you. People in poor health who start to exercise and do it consisently, usually find improved health.
