I changed from BT ADSL to Demon a short while back. I suffered one short unscheduled outage in the first 48 hours and since then I have noticed measurably faster net use, less crosstalk on the phones and a significant reduction in dropped packets, especially accessing the Berlin news server. So maybe they fitted a new ADSL card in the exchange, or maybe Demon's infrastructure is simply better.
