I am superficially acquainted with the technology of San Francisco's ancient cable cars. The cars grab onto a moving cable under the street. Little did I know the technology is still being employed in brand new systems.
There are several stories in the local paper today about Toronto's (CA) new air terminal. Eventually it will have a tram going between terminals. The tram will be moved by a cable running beneath it.
