Yeeehaaaaa! Just had an awesome day there yesterday. Flew to Berlin and skated the marathon (the skating version is on Saturday, the running version on Sunday).
A new personal best, 9 minutes better than last year. 1h 17m 48s, or just over 20mph. I am soooooo chuffed with that, especially because I didn't do nearly enough on skate training, relying instead on my skating technique and recumbent cycling fitness (I've done 5000km since January). I came 484th odd out of just over 8000 skaters, and the winner did it in 1h 1m or so, just to show I'm not even a particularly fast skater. One of my team mates did it in 1:09, including crashing.

How slow was the slowest? back when I was fit and running marathons I often talked of doing Berlin, but I was always scared of the times - I could do the whole FNS or WNS without too much trouble, but those are shorter and slower than your time above?
It would be nice to spend more time on the skates, maybe one day...

Jim.
Hey Jim, I'm not sure, but I expect there would still have been skaters finishing in 2.5 or 3 hours. If you can do an average London streetskate and do it regularly, you can finish a flat and fast marathon like Berlin easily after a little technique and fitness training, certainly nothing like the amount of training I imagine is necessary for running one.
If you're keen I do quite a few free sessions that will get you skating much faster. See www.londonskaters.com - weather permitting there's one this Sunday, meeting at the Albert Memorial at 12.00.

Okay, cool, it sounds like an achieveable goal... need to get back to the fitness to actually finish a london skate easily though, as right now my fitness is well down after 2 years drinking and lazing...

This week it's wsfii.org I'm afraid, I may well try to come along another month though.
