That's not quite right, but I will spare you the details because I sense you really aren't
interested. What amazes me is that you actually read the SKIPPY3 thread if you read the preceding

ah no, I must disagree with you, Joshua. as long as the thread remains clearly marked as OT, it
harms no one, IMO. I also disagree with your assessment of the balance of wisdom displayed in
the dialogue. while I resonate more with Tom's voiced position than Ed's, I can see no fault in

    cogent, and often amusing, discussions.

Ed Why would I mess with your subject line....you seldom post anything remotely related to
recumbents and everytime I see OT & Flammable I just ignore it because it so unrelated to bents it
should not even be on ARBR in the 1st place. As for.. let all hell loose..oooh don't like
something you get all emotional like a Nancy Boy. As I always suspected...you ALSO post under the
    alias Fabrizio.

The only one screwing up this newsgroup is you and your incredibly stupid posts. The day I post
something that I would suspect you are interested in is the day I would have to take stock of
myself. You can screw with your own posts all you want but leave everyone else's posts alone. It

Actually, determining subject headings is not more difficult that what I might think. Some, as
you have pointed out, may spend their lives trying to figure them out, but I'm not here to
criticize what others find difficult to do. What "everyone has gotten used to" is not a good
reason to let an error continue. If a law - or a subject heading - is wrong, then it should be
fixed. That's the American way. As for not wanting "every Tom, [censored] and Harry" changing the
subject headings when they no longer reflect even remotely what the subject is - for too long
have we tolerated a society where people ignore what's going on around them, where people don't
want to "get involved", where wrongs are not righted, where crime, poverty and ignorance are
allowed to continue, simply because that's what "everyone has gotten used to". *That* may not
be "rude and obnoxious behavior" - it is far worse.

The whole point of my post is that you are not equipped to be messing around with other people's
posts. Why would you arrogate to yourself such a responsibility? Do you think you are more
intelligent than everyone else? When you change a subject heading you are throwing everyone
offtrack. See what has happened to this SKIPPY subject thread as a result of meddling. Who could
or would want to follow it anymore? But the Amber Alert is classic. Only Mr. Goldberg can screw up
to that extent. It only takes a couple of screwballs to totally destroy a newsgroup by fooling
around with the posts. Say any damn fool thing you want, but leave other's posts alone out of
    common courtesy.

Sorry, but you're wrong. First off, you have no idea how "equipped" I am. And secondly, I am not
"messing around with other people's posts". When I hit my "send" button, I am sending *my* post.
The subject line at the top is on *my* post. Your post, and everyone else's, continues to have
the same subject line it had when you or they hit their "send" buttons. When the subject line no
longer even remotely reflects the actual contents, then what purpose does it serve? Ask
yourself, just what is the purpose of the subject line, if not to describe the subject of the
    attached post?

  12. Mr.Ed....Eat More Bran Oh and since Mr.Dolan says he never reads my stuff anyway, guess someone else
(Tom) will need to suggest it to him.

As for who would be crazy enough to email me off ARBR...well with the exception of Skip, Bobinator
and Mr.Dolan...seems (almost) everyone here has....some quite regularly. I average around 40 emails
per day from people using ARBR...maybe one critical email per week and in the last 2 years maybe 5
nasty...meet you in the parking lot messages. I have been invited to scores of events and have
people I meet on-line here visiting me. Even one person who offered me $ to shut the F**K Up and
Die...later apologized, no hugs and kisses but at least he doesn't want me dead anymore...which is
    always good.

I don't even get upset with what Mr.Dolan writes...kinda hard to be too critical of someone sooo
lonely that he cannot survive a day without taking cheap shots at Tom Sherman and anyone else who
cannot agree with his position...kinda sad really. Perhaps if Mr.Ed lived in a warmer climate he'd
spend more time riding and enjoying life and less time dealing with people who find him annoying. I
suspect Mr.Ed uses ARBR to fill a big void in his life...although you gotta wonder why someone would
think that a News Group about Recumbents is the ideal forum to rant and rave about politics...maybe
    that void = logic.

Oh and as for people here ignoring me, I have an email Ed from someone I trade emails with who is
fairly new to bents. He said that on one of his 1st organized bent rides the topic of the hour was
ME. According to this chap (everyone in the group) thought that I was thee most helpful and
informative member of ARBR with Cletus Lee 2nd (sorry Cletus). As for Mr.Ed...you never even made
their list....no surprises there I bet eh Ed.

I figure that one of the main reasons people listen to me about bents is that I have been bent
almost as long as [censored] Ryan and I actually care about how bent culture is evolving and YES my
bent does fill a void in my life and I would not want it any other way. I am slowly drifting away
from ARBR because it is becoming too political and not as connected to what bent culture should
    be (IMHO).

I get emails from folk here telling me they are giving up on ARBR, many suggesting I Moderate a new
bent group that will not include folk like Fabrizio & Mr.Dolan...ahhh people care (how sweet). I
like Fabrizio playing the role of the Devil's Advocate, I suspect he really drives a BikeE in
Vancouver. Fabrizio represents what many of us came to bents from and he is a constant reminder of
what is ahead if we stray back to the evil DF configuration. Mr.Dolan is what we will become if we
break our legs and cannot get out there and spend everyday riding bent.

As for my slowly drifting away (not drifting fast enough for some I suspect). More of my time is
spent advising people about Power-Assisted bicycles...most of which oddly enough are Recumbents. As
I have said for the past couple of years...bents are evolving into Power-Assisted Bents--> Bet many
of you just spewed your morning coffee on yer keyboards with that comment eh. Stages in evolution =
    Kiddie DF-> Car-> DF-> Bent-> Bent Trike-> Power Assisted Bent-> Adult diapers & heaven (not
Iowa)..the other heaven. What is starting to happen is there is a jump from Car -> Powered Bent
(missing the DF stage) re: people in cars are going directly to Powered Bents as the alternative to
their car and Un-Powered Bents are being added 2nd (2 bent households). As with bents, my long
history bent is now added to my long history with Power-Assisted bents re: 26 years bent and last 11
years using Power-Assist technology. I will NEVER be on the same technical level as [censored] Ryan or
Ricky Horwitz around bents, I am however the Big Kahuna with Power-Assists and being bent over a
    quarter century helps.

Anyway...I will NOT be here on ARBR as often as before....because the Power-Assist interest is
taking up more and more of my waking time.. Feel a bit like President Nixon here as he boarded the
plane...re: you won't have me to kick around anymore. Actually I will still Lurk on ARBR and may
wade into a thread now and then...but no more dominating the board for days on end.

PS anyone wanna tell Mr.Dolan (since he said he ignores what I post) that as far as I am concerned
the whole Skippy, Skippy1, Skippy2, Skippy3 and Skippy4 thing is dead and does not need to be
    continued.

Oh Yeah...Tom Sherman (be nice to Ed Dolan, the guy is trying his best to get up to our level and he

thing I do object to is all your nonsensical subject threads which I am always tripping over when

Mr. Sherman is intelligent and does have some wisdom, but he is just wrongheaded about

Only Mr. Goldberg can screw
up to that extent. It only takes a couple of screwballs to totally destroy a newsgroup by
fooling around with the posts. Say any damn fool thing you want, but leave other's posts alone
    out of common courtesy.

    Quoted message said:

Sorry, but you're wrong. First off, you have no idea how "equipped" I am. And secondly, I am
not "messing around with other people's posts". When I hit my "send" button, I am sending *my*
post. The subject line at the top is on *my* post. Your post, and everyone else's, continues to
have the same subject line it had when you or they hit their "send" buttons. When the subject
line no longer even remotely reflects the actual contents, then what purpose does it serve? Ask
yourself, just what is the purpose of the subject line, if not to describe the subject of the
    attached post?

Unless you are a librarian and have taken college level courses in how to assign subject headings
the chances are that you are not equipped to be playing around with other's subject headings.
Frankly, I am not accusing you of doing any of this sort of thing anyway. My main beef is with this
character otherwise known as Mr. Goldberg who is notorious for fooling around with subject headings,
including his own. He is a work of art!

There is something called continuity that exists with respect to any thread. Once we have embarked
on a thread, either just reading it or actively posting, it is important that this continuity be
maintained even if the subject wanders. Those who do not want to get in on the ground floor of a
thread have no preordained right to have things made easy for them and presented to them on a
platter. You earn your right to follow a thread by following it - not by taking shortcuts. If any
one wants to use an existing thread to take off in a new direction that is fine, but to change an
existing thread subject is a unacceptable. Let the thread die a natural death instead of trying to
resurrect it under a new and often misleading subject heading.

    under the alias Fabrizio.

The only one screwing up this newsgroup is you and your incredibly stupid posts. The day I post
something that I would suspect you are interested in is the day I would have to take stock of
myself. You can screw with your own posts all you want but leave everyone else's posts alone. It
takes intelligence to change a subject heading and neither you nor Mr. Varney are up to the job.
You can't even organize your own posts so they make any sense. You have diarrhea of the mind.

    Ed Dolan - Minnesota

Ed: This seems to be your favorite approach. You get into a subject and quickly devolve to
juvenile name calling. The ad hominem attack is the refuge of little minds, Ed. You'd get more
respect if you dropped the tactic. You claimed once you were trying to be like Fabrizio, but don't
quit your day job. He is funny; you are insulting. The above posts says it all. I suggest you take
your own advice and "take stock of [yourself]."

    Scott

Well, Scott, you and I are never going to get along. I have counted 5 insults in your rather short
post above. Did you not notice that Mr. Goldberg called me a Nancy Boy (whatever the hell that is)
because I told him that I did not want him messing around with my posts. Or is that not an insult in
your book? You jerks have your insults and I have mine. That is the only difference. But I love your
holier than thou attitude about it all. You are truly funny in your conceit and your blindness.

Did it ever occur to you that I do not care what you think of me or my posts? Unlike Mr. Goldberg I
do not see it as my mission in life to be popular and to have a lot of friends (if we can believe
what he is telling us). So far I have yet to be illuminated by anything you have ever said to me. In
the absence of such illumination I will carry on in my accustomed fashion by identifying jerks
wherever I may find them. It is not a pleasant job but someone has to do it. Anyway, you are high on
my list of miscreants for never saying anything that I can wrap my mind around. But nonetheless,
your pitiful contributions are welcome in the interest of using up space on the world wide web.
