    The first Christmas card junk mail has just arrived at work today.
    I daren't go to a garden centre now for fear of finding a Satan's
    grotto!

    Ouch!

    We need some kind of consumer-reaction to this [censored]. Maybe a big
    campaign to boycott the first supermarket[1] to stock a line of xmas
    [censored] and/or put up 'decorations'? Coordinate it online, and run it
    nationwide from the time of the first confirmed sighting until the
    start of the following year. If no such [censored] is seen before

    then no boycott: the campaign is successful.

    [1] Likewise "shop of type XYZ" in however many categories can
    be identified and organised for.

    Their [censored] excuse will probably be "we are just meeting demand" ;
    creating it more like. How long before they just scrap Boxing Day and
    have it like the US, where the Holiday (note choice of word)is over
    once the tills are full and the presents are open?

    They are! :-(

    When my exwife had a shop it was amazing how many people came in in
    August asking for the Xmas catalogue
