Ormskirk to Parbold

Have a look at OS 1:50,000 maps - either buy one of the pink ones, or look
at www.streetmap.co.uk.

I'd just pick any route with a maximum of yellow roads. Though I'd consider
doing bigger stuff for a short distance to make the route a sane distance.
So for yours, either northeast to Ring o Bells, over the big road then take
the little one on eastist, rejoining the big road halfway through Newburgh,
then turn off 1km later in Parbold. Or go ESE to Westhead. then to Whalleys,
north to Newburgh, then the same.

(if you mean Parbold Halls, then it's harder - I'd probably take the main
road from Parbold, but you could go round on yellow roads so you get to do
the main road downhill.)
