"ORIENT EXPRESS BICYCLE TOUR LOOKS TO AUSTRALIA
Special offer to promote a unique cycling experience
CAPE TOWN, RSA (February 22, 2006) – As specialists in transcontinental cycling events, Tour d’Afrique Ltd has quickly grown to become internationally recognized for its pioneering accomplishments and for providing unique adventures. The first Tour, now it is fourth year, is the exhilarating Tour d’Afrique which begins in Cairo, Egypt and ends in Cape Town South Africa. Tour d’Afrique is considered the most grueling cycling event on the planet. It covers 12,000 km (7,500 miles), is made up of 95 stages, spread over 8 sections and travels through ten African countries.
It is complemented by the Orient Express Bicycle Tour which will be crossing Europe for the second time starting July 30, 2006. Leaving from Paris, the tour travels 4,000 km (2,500 miles) through France, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, finishing 57 days later in the magnificent city of Istanbul. As the website states, “Explore the ‘new’ Europe on the old continent...from the French vineyards, to the spas of Budapest and the spices of Turkish bazaars, this is a continental tour like no other.”
In previous years of both of the tours, Tour d’Afrique Ltd. has had participants from almost every corner of the globe including; Canada, USA, UK, South Africa, Hungary, Japan, Holland, France, and New Zealand. But there has yet to be an Australian cyclist on either of the Tours. For this reason, Tour d’Afrique Ltd. is introducing the Australian market to these two events, and offering its cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts a special introductory promotion and the chance to be the first Australians to take part.
Special to the Australian market, group discounts will be offered to Australians in the cycling industry. This includes members of cycling clubs as well as customers and staff of bike shops. The discount applies to either of our Tours and to single sections of the tours as well. The discounts are as follows:
10% for groups of 3
