I have all these PDF files that I created from internet recipes- many
from the Food Network. I want to organize them. I really don't want to
use some proprietary software. I have done that in the past and 10 yrs
(and 3 computers) later, you can't find the software disk and the
database is useless. I also don't want to retype these.
I can already search the recipes using the Windows search. My idea was
to use the Windows file Attributes (select a file, right click and
select properties), thereby eliminating the need for a database. What I
am really looking to store is the author, type (entree, side, soup,
etc.), and a few other things. The problem is that I don't really want
to have to manually type all of this for each file independently (I
have over 350). Anyone else using this approach?
I figure using this approach, even when I am on Windows 2015, I will
still have my files in a universal format that can be used.
