Is there an optimum "average" stroke rate for distances of 1/4 - 1/2 mile? My perception is the
turnover rate of faster swimmers is almost twice my norm. Having a relatively weak upper body I tend
to like a longer glide between strokes. Am I imagining things or do I need to shorten my stroke
interval to get faster?

Actually, I don't see Speedo's Stroke Monitor for sale anymore. Have they dropped it?
