I'm also a 44 yr old MTB'r (45 Sept 11th) who can't run any more and opted for a mountain bike
about 4 years ago. I honestly don't know enough about the different bikes (and don't really care a
whole lot) to give you a good opinion about what you bought. I have some knowledgeable friends (on
here and in "real life"😉 and a good local bike shop with some honest guys (who know I know where
they live). They give me all the opinions I need. Sometimes I even listen to them. I CAN tell you
this though that if the bike fits you and it feels good to you when you ride it then you got a
good deal. Don't stress about it.

Go ride it!

great city/smooth trail bike for you. Get it fitted for you so your comfortable and then enjoy.

Oh yeah and also what marty said, the bike is only as good as the comfort. if the GT fits you good
and you didnt buy it for the bike I'd say great; but sometimes the price tag is the reason why
people buy things that dont fit. not that they are a bad bike. but if you got the clearance price
and it was a nice Fit/feel. then i'd say your a lucky bugger. so have run Get that mid section ready
for some work.. get the fresh air into you. im only half your age. but i think its great people your
age getting into riding. the Stamina and overall health and feeling of strength and well being is a
far cry from any price paid for a bike. so good on ya, i have fox gloves. nice and comfy and warm
for cold days and nights. but breathable. i got the Dirtpaw ones. Fairly cheap but in summer im
getting some fingerless. hehe . SPREAD IT ON MTB YAAA HOOO

Im thinking about getting my dad into biking. hes almost 51 years old. with arthritis. i think
