  1. I am looking to buy a new bike really soon. One of the bikes I'm looking at has a campy centaur grouppo and I wanted to know how did it work as far as racing is concerned? Any thoughts.....
The other bike has the new 10 speed ultegra.
    thanks

I am going to say this and then go hide due to Shimano/Campy warfare! Centaur is better than Ultegra in my opinion. I have used both Veloce and Ultegra and Veloce compares nicely with Ultegra. Centaur is a bit better than Veloce and thus is better than Ultegra.
Basically, if you go EITHER with Ultegra or Centaur you will be doing well. This is GREAT stuff on which to race! You get quality and good lightweight, without the high price points of Dura Ace, Chorus, or Record.

  3. I have a Veloce/Centaur mix, but I'm going to raise the white flag on the Campy or Shimano debate because at that level, they're both going to get the job done. That said, the shifting on the two are completely different. Try them both, and go with what feels best.

  4. Try them both and decide which one works better. I am a campagnolo man, but then again, I am Italian! 🙄

    Both work absolutely fine!
