Some time ago I said I would investigate relaying a feed of the euro
bike races and did in fact play around with the technical and legal
aspects of such a relay
Technically it is not overly difficult to do and I have sufficient
equipment to do it
However:
1. It is probably Illegal
2. I have a buddy who's a "techie" for a major French
broadcast/communications outfit who is doing lots for me in
several areas and referring to 1. above, I don't want to bite the
hand that feeds me so to speak.
3. I have a fast connection to the web, but only around 1 gig 'up', the
rest being allocated to 'down' and having made some preliminary
tests, discovered that at around 20 connects, whilst not actually
locking up or crashing, my box was screaming in pain.

4. I shall be away for a goodly chunk of April anyway
5. Cycling.TV will be putting out many of the events and with two
years experience under their belt already, with the internet rights
to many premier races already sewn up, and major plans for the
future, they can do a much better job than I, and I would
prefer to spend whatever time I have left out in the sunshine
anyway rather than spending it monitoring a system which would be
marginal at best.
Ergo I decided against it.
