Hi people, This is my first post so bear with me: I have been suffering from chronic achilles
tendonitis for approximately 3 years now and haven't been able to shift it with the help of 7
different physios (by choice), 2 poediatrists and a chinese doctor (who electrocuted me and stabbed
me with lots of needles!). I haven't run properly for about a year and still no releif from the
achilles (slight lump on tendon, the odd twitch of pain whilst going up and down stairs and a
feeling like it is clicking out of place whilst doing calf raises). And that's just one of my
problems! After running for 10 minutes (when I can), I begin to get a pain on the outside of my left
knee (opposite leg to tendonitis). It is just above the boney sticky outy bit, but lower than where
ITB would be (been down that route). It increases in pain until I can't run. It also hurts after
about 15 minutes when I ride my bike. Does anyone have any ideas? I have just found links on Gordon
Pirie and have started reading his book. Maybe this is the answer to my woes? Planning on starting
gently on the treadmill in bare feet and seing how it goes. I have always been a very heavy heel
striker, This may have triggered all of my problems. I'm just woried that my achilles won't like
bare feet after wearing expensive orthotics for the last year to try and correct my injuries (to no
avail). Please help Patrick.
