omega 3 in oily fish. since I often add anchovy essence (
40% anchovy) to soups and curries. does anchovy count as a
fish rich in omega 3, please ? thanking you for any

Anchovies are high in purines. And if you have gout, as many
with heart disease do, you may want to avoid high purine
food. Older cautions say avoid purines if you have gout.
Newer cautioins say purines are ok. I guess if you don't
have gout, you don't care what the studies say. Zee

Anchovies are a good source, when you consider the
proportion of omega-3 to the whole fish. The problem is that
you don't eat much of them at a time. A little dab of
anchovy paste for flavour is not comparable to eating a
serving of e.g. salmon or herring.
