This is strange. The men's ITT is now on MSNBC. Why did they not broadcast live. It looks like they are behind by about an hour.

I flipped it on just in time to hear Sherwin mention Armstrong. No [censored]. Evidently Contador has the same elbow position as Armstrong. Hummer then went on to mention Bruyneel.

Still... it was a good achievement. GT time trials and these events where everyone is fresh and giving 100% are different obviously. He's always been a solid TT'er... but only a few years ago... he was someone I think that was considered as a top ten candidate in TdF ITT, not a potential winning threat.

Zabirova now replaced by Arndt in third place with a time of 35:59

The 49 year old Longo (FRA) is now third with 35:52. Maybe Longo could hold off for a medal?

Nicole Cooke goes through in 16th place at the approximate two-thirds check point. She looks tired... probably from Sunday's big effort.

Kristen Armstrong (USA) moves into first place with a time of 34:51.72.

Cooke comes in at 13th place at this stage with a time of 37:14.

Looks like that is going to be the medals. The reigning World Champ Kupfernagel is "laying an egg" on the course atm... and won't place. She comes in 11th and is really disappointed.

Interesting handlebar set up for Emma Pooley. She had aero bars set up to mimic riding on the hoods - her favoured position for climbing. The British team leaves nothing to chance. Nicole Cooke wore a skinsuit for the road race in an attempt to gain a few seconds and she did alright too.

We had Liggett and Mike Turtur commentating in Australia. Turtur reckons Leipheimers TT position is 'arguably illegal'. 😄

Boardman was mentioning this on BBC. They called it "Project Pooley". They studied the course a year ago and built the bike & position to match the uphill sections

Normal list of dopers taking the top spots as usual. Quite impressed by Steve Cummings performance in 11th, if all the gear heads get busted he'll get a medal.

Actually, I'd have to say that Cadel's effort was incredibly impressive considering he apparently has a torn ACL (or a "break" in the ACL as it was phrased in this Velonews article). article also says he likely won't be able to ride at worlds, and the Vuelta doesn't seem to be on his schedule (contrary to the Vuelta organizers announcing the other day that Evans would be riding)...
