Hi All,
I've got a question about collarbone pain while practising oly clean.
I've googled this newsgroup before, but I couldn't find anything
related to it.
The pain is in the corner of my left collarbone, where the bone a bit
sticking out (I'm not sure the perfect term for it), and in the neck
muscle directly adjacent to it. I can feel the pain when I touch that
area and sometimes when my seatbelt in the car brushed that area. The
area also darkened a bit (not anymore though). The pain came and went.
Sometimes, I feel it very much, other times I don't.
I practice oly lifts three times a week, including power clean/push
jerk/front squat each times. Does it mean a flaw in my technique, or is
it quite common? I'm thinking that the pain may be caused by I bang the
barbell to my collarbone, but Im not too sure. These days I tried not
to let the barbell bang that area, but as the result I lost the groove
or it hit my adam's apple.
Can somebody tell me what to do with the pain? I normally put on some
deep heating rub after my practices and at night daily. It seems to
help a bit, but not removing it at all. Of course, the option of not
doing clean is completely out of the picture! 🙂
FYI, I just started to do oly lifts about 3-4 months ago, so I'm very
much a beginner.
Thanks in advance.
Michael A.
