Old School TT Equipment Choice

Interesting. He too third on that gear. I can only assume the reported
wet, slippery dust was a key factor in the TT, and drove Horner's gear
choice.

It just goes to show that time trial bikes are not the answer in every
TT. I don't know the course, but I imagine that played in to the
choice. He has the goofy helmet and skin suite on. I also noticed (in
another photo) that he didn't have fancy wheels either (and I'm sure
they could have kitted him up with those had he requested). I suspect
windy conditions and a technical course. I mean, it's a prologue, how
much time will a TT bike really yield in a few kilos?

Tell me Rasmussen wishes he hadn't simply ridden a normal road bike in
the TdF a couple of years back?
