I've just found this site which I have found very interesting and useful. I recently started road cycling, I had dabbled in mountain biking previously, but the tour de france this year finally pushed me over the edge into getting a decent road bike.
I ride a cannondale r2000 which I love, the saddle did take a bit of getting used to after riding MTB's, and the longest tride I've done so far is only 45 miles.
The biggest issue I have at the moment is trying to spin in a high cadence, my tendency is to drop into a smaller gear and spin at around 60rpm while I notice the other guys I ride with tend to ride in higher gears and spin faster. I guess it will feel more natural to do that as I spend more time on the bike.
