  1. (Stop laughing, okay? 🙂

When I was a kid of course I rode kiddie bikes. When I was 15 my dad bought me my first "grown up" bike (3 speed, 26" womens). I still use it, and I have a second one just like it.

After a 22 yr hiatus from cycling for various reasons (from age 23-42), I recently returned to it this summer. I was amazed at how much bikes have changed! Mountain bikes? What the heck are those? "Comfort", "recreational", etc? To me a bike is just a bike, no fancy names needed! (lol)

Anyway, went to a local bike shop today for the first time in many years (BikeLine). I felt totally lost! Where can I find an equivalent to the old bikes I have? Can 3 speed "regular" bikes still be bought today?? Its the only kind I feel comfortable maneuvering, I like the handlebars, etc.
