Growing up in the south I remember my grandmother having a miracle drug that cured all ills, at least the minor scrapes, cuts and insect stings I got on the farm. It was called "oil o' rosin" (I'm sure that was the colloquial way of saying "oil of resin"😉 and it smelled like turpentine. I remember it as an oily liquid having a golden color. When applied to a minor wound would instantly take away the pain.
Does anyone know what substance I am talking about and perhaps where I might find some?
