Today I went to LiDL and bought:
A digital Vernier Caliper @ £9.99
A metal, live AC, or wood, detector @ £3.99
A Plug-in meter for volts, watts, kWh and (allegedly) power factor @
£4.99
A collapsible wheel nut spider @ £2.99
Why couldn't I buy stuff like this 20 or 40 years ago when I might have
had a use for them. ;-)
I was sick of folk telling me how much power my TV etc burn when on
standby, and now I know.
TV = 4w
VCR = 3w
DVD = to low to measure
Digi Box = 8 or 9w
The digi-box is the villain then.....
