The Observer's Sport Monthly yesterday had a good article on the Etape. It was written by a woman who took up cycling a few years ago because she was fed up with the tube. Then she got into cycling a bit more. When she moved to Paris she decided to enter, as she said, it was only 140 miles longer than her daily commute. She did it last year and enjoyed it enough to be up for it this year.
I could scan the article if anyone who wants to read it can't get hold of it otherwise.
Yeah, cheers. I didn't realise the OSM was available online.
Talking of the Observer, I finally got around to asking our local newsagent to hold back a copy for me. So, yesterday I cycled the mere three miles to get the paper, it only took ten minutes. When I got there she had closed for lunch---I had 12:30 written down, she closed at 12:00. So, I had to cycle home. Three miles is of course trivial, except when it's all uphill and the climb is about 200 metres. It took a bit longer to get home. Then I had to do it all again after half one. Nothing compare to the Etape though.

That'll teach me to always put all the sports supplements in the recycling without looking at them. I shall have to dig it out of the pile when I get home.
