There is a lot of countyside in the environs of Oban but not many
tourist routes, if by tourist route you mean waymarked paths.
You could take the ferry over to Kerrera and walk round the island.

The nearest 3,000 foot mountain (Munro) on the mainland is Ben
Cruachan which is a great hill but should not be taken lightly. This
is not a "tourist route". Good navigation skills are needed when cloud
and mist come into play.
Over on Mull the Corbett (2,500 foot mountain) of Dun da Ghaoith is
within easy reach of the ferry port at Craignure. Taking a vehicle
over just to climb one hill would be expensive

This a view of from just past the end of the road to the aerials.

A few miles to the north near Benderloch there is a Forestry Commission car
park from which a marked path takes you up to the summit of Beinn Lora.
Although it is a modest summit at 308m the views from the top are superb and
rival many views from higher summits. Well worth doing.

I would suggest walking on the road to Taynuilt. It is long but a very nice
route and not too many cars. if you can drive, I'd also recommend going to
the hydro-electric plant at Ben Cruachan and walking along the side of Loch
Etive from the head of loch Awe.
