  1. This is a Mrs. Fields recipe...makes great cookies!!

Me and my boyfriend do alot of cooking/baking together...we mostly do alot of breads, both by hand
and by machine. We have a lot of recipes varying from simple dinners/deserts to low fat stir frys
    and anything in between!

    Oatmeal Raisin Chews

2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/4 tsp. salt 1 cup quick oats-not instant 1 cup (packed) dark brown sugar
3/2 cup sugar 2 sticks (1 cup) salted butter, softened 2 Tbsp honey 2 tsp. vanilla extract 2 large
eggs 8 oz. raisins (about 1 1/2 cups) OPTIONAL: 3 oz. walnuts, chopped (about 1/2 cup)

Yeild: about 2 1/2 dozen without walnuts OR about 3 dozen with walnuts.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. In med. bowl combine flour, soda, salt and oats. mix well and set
aside. In large bowl blend sugars with electric mixer set at medium speed. Add butter and mix to
form grainy paste. scrape down sides of the bowl and then add honey, vanilla and eggs. mix at medium
speed until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture, raisins and walnuts(if desired) and blend at a low
speed just until combined. do NOT over mix. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie
sheets...1 1/2 inches apart. bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until cookies are light golden brown.
Immediately transfer cookies with a spatula to a cool, flat surface.

**Notes: I noticed that at 18 minutes the cookies look under baked, but when cooled on the cookie
sheet for 5 minutes before moving to the rack...they stay nice and soft and chewy for those that
    like their cookies chewy
