NYNY week 11 -- Prairie Roots

Guest
My current weight: 168.2 lbs
Weight change since my last recorded weight: +.2 lbs
Total weight change to date: -63.8 lbs

Honestly, I'm quite grateful for the near-maintain this week. I needed to level off after dropping 7
lbs over my previous two WIs. My head's needing a chance to keep up with the scale.

Not much posting this week: I've been getting ready for a houseful of family who will be arriving
tomorrow: my daughters, granddaughter, and future son-in-law. They'll be here for a week. I've got
the week's meals planned and most of the groceries bought. That Tequila Shrimp recipe Fred posted
sounds delicious. I'm sure it would be a big hit with the family on Christmas Eve, and since shrimp
is one of the "signature" items carried by a local upscale grocery store, I'll be able to buy a nice
quantity of the fresh kind on Wednesday. Can't wait to try it.

Don't know how much I'll be able to log in to the newsgroup next week. I'll be doing well to make
time to journal every day.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Congrats on the near Maintain.

Have a great visit with family and I hope that the Shrimp dish meets your expectations. It is pretty
simple and very quick.

I improvised on it a bit again last night. I sauteed (in little or no olive oil) onions and a bunch
of the small colorful peppers Costco sells (reds, oranges and yellows). Some red pepper flakes.
Added juice of about 1/2 lime. Then shrimp till they were almost pink (not long) and then added some
Grand Marnier (orange liquor) and cooked down. Don't overcook shrimp. Very nice.

The shrimp with Grand Marnier sounds interesting, just bought a bottle today to use in my
cranberry sauce.
