Ok. So I am losing slowly. Because I only have 5 lbs to lose. And 5 lbs take a lot longer to lose
when your are so close to goal, than when you are just starting out.
I remember the last time I weighed what I weigh now - (114). October 2000. By May 2001 I weighed 100
lbs. 7 months to lose 14 lbs. And I hardly even noticed it. I just ate sensibly, no starvation, no
exercise - just awareness and room for special occasions like christmas and birthdays and saturday
evening snacking. That is 2 lbs a month. ½ a lbs a week. (220 grams a week).
Now, I dont want to weigh 100 lbs again. I am happy at 108-110 - so lets say I have 5 lbs more to
go. At two lbs a month I can be a goal by mid April, just by healthy living. I can also start
exercising and eat more "dietlike" and maybe be a goal by mid March. (My daugther's 5th birthday) I
will try the exercise and "dieting" until mid March, but still alllow myself to drink a bit on
weekends and enjoy my boyfriend's great cooking!
I thought I could be at goal by Valentines day, but that is not possible. The GOOD thing, though, is
that I am NOT at the same place weight wise I was when I first said "I want to lose 10 lbs by
Valentines Day"! I am 5-6 lbs lighter! And it does show on a 5 ft. tall body:o)!
NSV: When my boyfriend hugged and held me two days ago he tried to grab the side handles and back-
tires and there was nothing there! He even said my behind had gotten a little too small!:o)
(Unfortunately my built is not the typical hour glass - I lose weight at my chest, thighs and behind
and a little in the waist. But my stomach, arms and chin remains...*g*) So I have to sacrifice my
chest and butt to lose the rest...too bad..)
I AM moving downwards! I AM keeping my promise to myself! And that feels so good. I cannot count the
many many times during the past year I told myself "by this date I want to weigh x lbs." And then
not doing anything about it at all - just to realize that when that date came around and I had
actually gained. But not this time!
And that is a victory in it self!
